Greece has around 200 inhabited islands in six groups, and the gap between them is enormous
— Mykonos and Naxos are the same sea at roughly double the price. These guides start with
the numbers.
| Guide | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Greece in 10 Days | Athens and two islands, done properly |
| What a Greece Trip Costs | Real numbers, and the island price gap |
| Which Greek Islands? | All six groups compared |
| Santorini vs Mykonos | Why booking both is usually a mistake |
| Luxury Hotels in Santorini | You’re paying for the view, not the room |
| Where to Stay in Athens | Plaka, Koukaki or Monastiraki |
| Ferries vs Flights | Cancellations, sell-outs and when to fly |
| Is Sailing Worth It? | Chartering compared against hotels plus ferries |
| Style | Per day | 10 days, per person |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | €78–140 | ~€1,210 |

| Luxury | €630–1,550 | ~€11,500 |
A mid-range hotel is €90–150 on Naxos and €250–500 on Mykonos in August. Splitting

Cyclades for the classic white-village image — Santorini, Naxos, Paros, Milos.
Ionian for families and sailing — greener, calmer, sheltered.
Crete deserves two weeks on its own.

Ferries stop in high winds, most often in July and August, and there’s no appeal — you wait.
Never book a ferry arriving the same day as an international flight. Conventional
ferries keep running when high-speed catamarans are cancelled.
Detail in ferries vs flights.
| What | Why compare | |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels | Island choice moves the price more than star rating does | Find Greek hotels |
| Tours & caldera cruises | Free cancellation matters when ferries and weather are unpredictable | Compare Greece tours |
| Yacht charter | At six-plus people it competes with hotels, without the transfers | Compare Greek charters |
